Mario is an exceptional server! He made us feel comfortable and welcome, never rushed. He made our first experience here one to remember in a positive way. The food was delicious and we will definitely be back.
Recently stopped in for cocktails after a weekend event at the Westport Library, conveniently across the street. We did not eat, but the staff was very friendly, attentive, and thoughtful. Carlos, our bartender, made great recommendations that were spot on, and he even brought us a specialty cocktail to try on the house. Chef Renato was also very engaging and generous, he offered us a tasty bite simply for the joy of hospitality. The wood-fired Neapolitan style pizza looked delicious, definitely want to try it next time!
We chose to spend New Year’s Eve here, and it couldn’t have been a better decision. Mario, our server, greeted us with a warm smile and impressed us with his extensive knowledge of the menu, recommending standout dishes like the hanger steak and potato tapas, which were absolutely incredible. Despite the lively energy of the night, he remained calm, attentive, and made sure our experience was nothing short of exceptional. The espresso martini and blossom martini are simply outstanding – a must-try for any visit!
Our waiter Mario was outstanding customer service. Always coming checking on us and making great food suggestions. Very friendly and attentive. Will def go back. And ofcourse the food was delicious!!! Octopus and mussles! A must. And stuffed eggplant!
This place is amazing. We stopped in here around 5pm on Saturday and it wasn’t busy yet. It is 7pm an we are still here. Drinks are amazing. We had tapas and then Eventually a pizza from a guy named Renato. Please if anyone sees him just know he is the best and we were sitting at the end of the bar near the wall so we had the best seats in the house. He makes the pizza from scratch. It’s light on the stomach trust me because this was my third meal. He was was great. If you are looking for a good bite and a good vibe this is the place. Remember ask for Renato to make your pizza!
Beautiful spot next to the park and with river views. The food was delicious and the staff made us feel extremely welcomed! They have outdoor seating which is perfect if you want to bring your pet. Make sure you order the lava cake
This is our favorite restaurant in Westport. The food is delicious & the staff is excellent. We love the atmosphere & everyone is so nice & checks on you to be sure everything is good. Highly recommend it, you will love this hidden gem.
I live around the corner and I'm a good cook. Tonight I treated myself to Basso and it didn't disappoint. Carlos at the bar convinced me to try the Pink Lady and a Chocolate Martini, as a single malt, red wine kinda gal these are not usually my drinks, they were DELICIOUS. The pulpo and the chorizo chicken pea tapas were fantastic. They both tasted like they were out of someone's grandmother's kitchen - wholesome, rich flavor. I highly recommend Basso without reservation!
